History:
South Twenty 24 Parganas and Dakshin 24 Parganas, a region located in the Indian state of West Bengal, headquartered in Alipore. The current South 24 Parganas region was formed on March 1, 1986. It then consolidated two smaller sections - Alipore and Diamond Harbor and 30 blocks. There are currently five categories (Alipore, Baruipur, Canning, Diamond Harbor and Kakdwip), 29 blocks and 7 Municipalities.

The region is famous for the delta area called Sundarbans, which is a tourist destination that attracts people from all over the world. The land of South 24 Parganas is a very fertile country and includes a dense jungle that is home to many birds, animals and tropical trees, including the Royal Bengal Tiger.
